I love my career! I started cutting hair when I was 12, earned my barber license at 17, and later became a cosmetologist. From 1981-1985 I was the personal stylist for St Louis Mayor Vincent Schoemel. During my career I have freelanced theater work for the Muny Opera, Talent Plus Model Agency, and The Girls of Kansas City Calendar.
In 1994 I became a color specialist/educator for Framise USA. While in Kansas City I owned and operated a unique salon and art space called One Block West Salon where we hosted exhibits of local artists. During my second year in Santa Fe I was honored to be selected by The New Mexican for their special make-over edition.
I love art and I consider myself an artist. Art and geometry are an integral part of what I do every day. Even after 30 years I am still excited about the creativity nature of my industry. I am very pleased to be using Davines superior color and products and to be joining the very talented and inspiring team at Salon Del Mar.

I am from a Native American Tribe called Kewa (also known as Santo Domingo Pueblo) from an area south of Santa Fe. I see hair as a special element of everyone’s persona, for it represents who you are. Whether you are modest, adventurous, or needing help finding your hairstyle, I am here to offer insight to discover the right look to suit your lifestyle.
Japanese art and culture, both ancient and modern, particularly hand-drawn and computer animation, have always inspired me to pursue what I love. Anime styling has been the primary inspiration of my hairdressing career. “Piecey,” cute, textured, and colorful hair has always stood out to me and fueled my artistry.
Hairdressing is what comes naturally to me. I think of hair as sculpture and I think everyone has their own style just waiting to be expressed. I strive to create haircuts that look good with or without styling products. I watch how your hair moves and respect how it wants to fall naturally. The razor is one of my favorite cutting tools and I'm very comfortable cutting fades. After I put all my effort into cutting and placement, seeing the final product is the greatest part.
I am happy to bring my craft to Salon Del Mar because it is a place where one can truly be oneself.

I have been a stylist in New York for 13 years. I have a passion for haircuts of all kinds. I believe every service starts with a good consultation and that listening to my clients will result in a curated look to meet their needs, lifestyle and personality. I love to learn and I participate in continuing education religiously to keep up with the trends and make sure my skills compliment my talents. When I am not in the salon I play guitar and ride my Harley everywhere (even in the snow)! I'm the proud father of two boys who look like they could be my brothers.

I grew up in New Mexico and began my career behind the chair in 2008. I have worked with many product and color lines but my true excitement for hairdressing began in 2012 when I started to use Davines. I have attended many classes over the years for coloring, cutting, and styling and I love the opportunity to learn new skills and refresh the fundamentals of hairdressing. My wish as a stylist is that every client have a relaxing experience in my chair, let their worries fall away, and feel confident in and out of the salon.
I enjoy cutting and styling hair, but color is my absolute love. I am passionate about the whole process of hair color: the problem solving, searching for the missing puzzle piece, and the “aha” moment. It’s an experience that I love embarking on with my clients.
I want my journey behind the chair to be an ever-evolving one. I take pride in my work and I absolutely love what I do.

I have been in the industry for the last 12 years. I was born in Serbia, and raised in Las Vegas, NV and recently relocated to Santa Fe. I have a passion for hair, and I love that I can use my hands to express my creativity through coloring, cutting, and styling. Coloring is my forte, and I'm eager to tackle vivid colors, work with redheads, blondes, and engage in a variety of color projects. Making people look and feel great is what it’s all about for me. I love staying up to date with the latest hair trends and I am continuously learning and evolving in my craft. I enjoy cutting different styles of fringe and shaggy haircuts. I love to experiment and have fun when it comes to hair! I look forward to growing in my new community and building trusting bonds with clients.

At a very young age I was given the “Dep Gel Totally Hair Barbie,” and I’ve never looked back! I’ve always loved hair, this natural material that you can say so much with. I was fortunate to be able to attend beauty school while in high school, and I began my career at the age of 18. Fast forward 22 years, and I am still in love with my craft. I have honed my skills with various additional courses throughout my career. I am very inspired by Vidal Sassoon’s architectural approach to haircutting. He was influenced specifically by Frank Lloyd Wright to build a strong structure while working with the materials and surroundings nature has given. I love to combine that point of view with my own personalization—adding softness or deconstruction where needed.
Shapes and structures aside, to me the most important aspect of hairdressing is listening. It is with the utmost respect and enjoyment that I listen to my guests and make sure we are always on the same page and on track to creating the haircut they hope for. My favorite part about doing someone’s hair is making them feel beautiful and happy. Each person I meet inspires me, and I put their unique energy into each haircut I give.

When I graduated high school in the 80's, I felt lost until my hairdresser & friend, Sheri Lynn, mentioned I should tour the beauty school. I loved what was happening in the 80s with hair, fashion, and music, so that's what led me to cosmetology. I started my career in hairdressing in 1986 and soon moved to Dallas, TX, to work for the London-based company TONI&GUY in 1987, where I honed my precision cutting and styling craft. The company was rapidly growing and I grew into leadership within the first year. I managed the largest freestanding salon in Dallas, then progressed to a regional manager overseeing 12 salons in the DFW area, where I learned that I have a love of service in hairdressing and seeing people grow with my guidance. I knew it was my thing. I have worn many hats throughout my career with just a cosmetology license, for which I'm forever grateful. Whether it's managing other salons or owning a salon, or working with significant hair care brands in a sales position, for me it's all for the love of service.
I'm originally from the west coast and have made several attempts to return west, mainly for my love of nature and its nurturing. I'm excited to start my new adventure here in New Mexico to fulfill that part of myself that I have been missing. Other than people, my passions lie in the outdoors, learning about different cultures, community, architecture, design, exploring the unknown, and seeking opportunities to turn the tables of service and be the customer myself! Did I mention that I am a dog dad? The best part of making people feel good and look good is the relationships this opportunity brings.

I specialize in creating beautiful, natural-looking blonde shades. I take great pride in my ability to perform stunning color transformations, taking my clients’ hair from dull and lifeless to vibrant and eye-catching. I stay up-to-date on the latest trends and techniques in hair coloring to ensure that my clients leave my chair feeling confident and beautiful. I graduated from the Aveda Institute in 2010 and I am grateful to have found my true calling in hair color and look forward to continuing to help my clients achieve their dream hair looks.

I love our craft. I’m inspired by all kinds of beauty and the human spirit. My training has stretched from Florida to Seattle and Los Angeles to New York. 10 years ago Salon Del Mar was born and we have been blessed to work with very talented people, past and present. The salon is a beautiful space we love and tend to daily. It’s warm and friendly and full of love, good music and beautiful hair. It makes me so happy! I’m originally from Florida and love to travel and experience different people and cultures. After my career had taken me all over the country, I settled in Santa Fe in 2008.
Through my commitment to continuous learning, as a salon we have been able to learn from, host and teach alongside highly skilled individuals from all over the world. Almost 30 years into my craft, mentoring and education have become my focus. Working alongside Davines, I’ve been learning how to teach both foundational and advanced cutting and color programs. I’m thrilled to be able to share these programs with stylists locally and all over the country.
Our desire as a Salon is to be a force for good for our staff, customers and community, and I’m so thankful to my husband Kevin for partnering with me in this endeavor.

I am the part owner and dual operator of Salon Del Mar. Alongside my wife, Angela, I manage customer service, marketing and the culture of the salon.
Born in Liverpool, England, I’m a passionate football (soccer!), art and music fan. After earning a degree in graphic design in England and working as a graphic and multi-media designer, I moved across the Atlantic to work in Southern California in the beauty industry, first in distribution, marketing, and graphic design, and later in education and sales. I have worked every aspect of the beauty industry short of cutting and coloring hair myself. Combining my visual communication skills with my penchant for hard work and cultivating working relationships, I thrived in customer service and management teams.
I met Angela soon after she moved to New Mexico from New York City and created Salon Del Mar. We have been running it together ever since. I have a natural gift for hospitality and showing people a good time and I take pride in how we treat people. My belief that giving clients a warm and fuzzy experience when visiting the salon is of utmost importance and it can really make the difference between a good experience and a GREAT experience! I guide the front desk team to approach their work with passion, empathy and understanding.
Salon Del Mar is a special place both for our staff and our clients, whether they come in every 4 – 8 weeks or twice a year. It is more than just a hair salon. It is a place of beauty and kindness.

I was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan. Like most of the Taiwanese, I speak multiple languages; Mandarin and Taiwanese are my first languages and I started learning English when I was 9 years old. I earned my college degree in French language and literature. I believe language is the tool that opens up the world and allows one to truly understand its cultures and people. I’ve been traveling around the world and in 2016, I decided to move to Santa Fe to start a new life. I am also a huge movie buff, and before I moved to Santa Fe, I was a writer and editor for a movie magazine.
I am so proud to be part of this wonderful, creative team. As the Salon Manager, my goal is to make everyone feel warm and welcome the minute they step into our salon and I try my best to meet the needs of every client.
Kaelen Green
front desk host & web designer
As a hive of design and invention, Salon Del Mar attracts creatives of many stripes. I am a graphite artist and a writer. I was raised in Santa Fe and earned my degree in studio art at Mills College in Oakland, CA and the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne, Australia. My work has been exhibited at galleries and museums in the US and abroad. For more about my work, please visit my website: www.kaelengreen.com.
Welcoming clients to the salon and working with such an energetic and talented team is really a pleasure. Salon Del Mar is a special place that I care deeply about. The people here are like family to me. As a host, I hope to impart that warmth to everyone who walks through our doors. I’m also the web designer for Salon Del Mar.

Born and raised in New Mexico, I grew up surrounded by the unique and beautiful culture of the Land of Enchantment. My insatiable curiosity about the world led me on immersive journeys across Bali, Indonesia, and Thailand, enriching my life with diverse perspectives. My number one passion is exploring health and well-being through many outlets, including exercise, yoga, and meditation. I am also deeply devoted to environmental advocacy and I spend a lot of my free time creating music. My excitement towards helping others, eco-consciousness, and well-being perfectly collide with the atmosphere and culture of Salon Del Mar. As a front desk host, I am dedicated to curating an unparalleled experience for each guest, fostering an ambiance where everyone feels not only welcomed but embraced, cared for, and esteemed.
